About Us
Cal Poly Hockey Club is a student run team, operating through the Cal Poly Club Sports Council. We compete in the Western (WCRHL) division of the National Collegiate Roller Hockey Association (NCRHA) and the season runs October-APRIL. The season consists of tournaments 1-2 times per month, followed by regionals in March and nationals in April. Regular season tournaments are mostly held in San Jose, Huntington Beach, Santa Maria, Phoenix, and Corona/IRVINE.
HISTORY OF CAL POLY ROLLER HOCKEY
THE CAL POLY HOCKEY CLUB WAS FOUNDED IN 1993 AND HAS BEEN COMPETING IN THE WESTERN COLLEGIATE ROLLER HOCKEY LEAGUE (WCRHL) SINCE 1995. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE WON 4 REGIONAL TITLES. WE CONSISTENTLY FINISH IN THE TOP 8 TEAMS AT NATIONALS EVERY YEAR. CAL POLY HOCKEY STILL HAS NOT TAKEN HOME A NATIONAL TITLE, BUT HAS RECORDED A 2ND PLACE FINISH AT THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT IN MADISON, WISCONSIN IN 2011.
Divisions
Cal Poly fields multiple competitive hockey teams competing in the National Roller Hockey Association. We also have players playing for our local Club Rage Hockey Program competing in narch, torhs, and state wars.
Tryouts
Tryouts occur at Central Coast Sports Arena at the beginning of Cal Poly's Fiscal Year.
Players will be scouted and drafted to teams by the Team Manger and assigned Captain of each team.Player Requirements/Eligibility
Eligibility
All players must be enrolled in at least 9 units at Cal Poly and are limited to 5 years of NCRHA eligibility.
